2000 Yards of Superior Sewing Thread
Since 1980, we’ve combined AAA-grade polyester with 4-Ply tight-twist technology for the first time to create a thread with industry-leading strength, smoothness, and abrasion resistance. It’s more costly to produce, but it delivers truly professional-grade quality. We choose higher standards, so your work can speak for itself.
4-Ply Tight-Twist Tech for Superior Strength
Engineered with a 4-ply tight-twist structure, this sewing thread delivers superior strength and durability compared to ordinary 2-ply threads. The reinforced construction helps reduce thread breaks during sewing, providing more reliable stitches and a smoother, more efficient sewing experience.
AAA-Grade Polyester for Smooth Stitching
Made with AAA-grade polyester fibers, this thread helps reduce common issues found with ordinary threads during sewing, including snagging, pilling, fuzzing, thread jams, and breakage. It helps reduce downtime caused by thread changes and rework, keeping your sewing process smooth and efficient.
OEKO-TEX Certified for Quality You Can Trust
Certified by OEKO-TEX, this thread is produced with environmentally responsible processes and tested to be free from harmful substances. Its excellent colorfastness helps maintain vibrant colors wash after wash. Ideal for DIY, embroidery, repairs, quilting, and custom projects.
Perfect for Hand & Machine Sewing on Most Fabrics
Compatible with hand sewing and machine sewing (including handheld machines, standard machines, and industrial machines). Works seamlessly with Singer, Brother, Janome, Juki, Bernina, Consew, and more. Ideal for a wide range of fabrics such as cotton, polyester, denim, canvas, linen, nylon, fleece, and more. Whatever you’re stitching, this thread delivers consistent performance so every project comes out clean, strong, and reliable.

This is an impartial and objective Vine review of the Sewing Thread from Liuhg. This white thread comes as one large spool of 2000 yards (1829m).The 40wt polyester thread is made from premium polyester fibres which glide through the sewing machine easily. It's smooth to the touch with no fly-away bits or loose thread. The spool is extremely large, far too big for my machine (they may be suitable for an industrial sewing machine, I don't know, but certainly not a domestic one), so the thread either needs to be 'decanted' onto a smaller spool, or an adaptor needs to be fitted to the machine to hold the larger spool (I found that an empty cotton reel of an appropriate size worked quite well, but it was trial and error to actually find the right size).Price-wise, it's reasonably cost-effective, priced as it is, at just £4.99 (at time of order),All in all I was quite impressed with this thread and would be more than happy to consider buying more at a later date when required.
I do a lot of sewing and like using white polyester thread for its strength and reliability. There is about 1828 metres on this spool, so it’s going to last a while. Although the spool has a large core I usually insert a smaller spool on the spindle and then put this big spool over it. It’ll just stop it from rocking about or falling off. I do like that it has a little rim at the bottom, which helps to stop the thread going under the spool and getting wrapped around the spindle. The 40 wt thread is good for most projects. It’s a medium weight for general sewing, machine embroidery and quilting.I’m very pleased with this thread and will definitely recommend it.
It's black thread and it's very similar to the usual inexpensive all purpose thread. It might actually be slightly thicker (it's on left in the picture) than the not-bulk thread. When testing the strength, both broke at about the same tension. It runs through my sewing machine just fine. It was a reasonable price for a ton of thread.
Although this is not quite the thread I was hoping for, I still think it is a good thread offered for a good price. If you are looking for a polyester thread with the look if mercerized cotton, this is a thread for you.Unfortunately for me, I was looking for a polyester thread with the bright shiny look of rayon. This is OK, but not the umph I was looking for.I used this to old school machine embroider a couple patches. They look nice, but don't have all the sparkle I wanted.
I go through a lot of thread so I am always looking for a way to be efficient about my thread purchases. I was happy to receive this spool of thread. Here are my first impressions. It is a nice big spool of thread, sure to last a long time without having to change to another spool. I really like that aspect. It has a decent texture and seems to be a true shade of black.I did a pull test on it to see if it would snap and it held up under that pressure, making me think it will hold up well for seams. All in all, it seems like a good value and a great addition to my sewing room!
2000 yards of polyester all purpose thread for the price is a good deal. 40wt is a typical thread weight for all purpose sewing and a commonly used weight for machine embroidery as well (when paired with a 60wt bobbin). It stitches nicely, holds well, and agrees with my machines. It is constructed well with reliable tension throughout. Low quality threads do not have consistent or reliable tension and can have pockets of length that shed fibers and cause jamming/birdnesting. Tension and quality throughout the stitching process is tremendously important. High quality is always worth the added cost, but this spool of high quality gives that quality at a reasonable cost. I'll buy it again.
This seems like a nice strong thread. It doesn’t break easily and the color is a true black. There’s a large amount of thread on the spool, and it’s evenly wound, so it feeds off smoothly while working. It’s not shiny like the picture in the listing, which was a little misleading, but the thread itself performs well.Overall, solid thread with good strength. I’m giving it 4 stars because the listing shows a shiny finish that the actual product doesn’t have.
Excellent quality, all-purpose black thread. The color is a subtle matte black, not glossy or shiny. Sharing a photo where I tried to show the thread's texture. It is not a sleek, decorative thread, but more of a relaxed utilitarian, versatile black for all purpose sewing. It is sturdy and strong. I can break it with my hands but it takes a lot of my strength to do that.I use black more than any other color when repairing clothes or sewing. Most of wardrobe consists of dark winter colors. The thread works in my Janome sewing machine and my serger too.2000 yards of thread will last through many projects and repairs ~ a long time!
I ordered this thread for my serger since it is the same size and shape as serger thread. Normally, for a serger, they come in a pack of 4. Unfortunately, this is only 1 spool of thread instead of 4. Even though it only comes with one, it still works as any normal thread would. While it looks like serger thread, you can use it on a standard sewing machine as well.All-purpose thread doesn't break easily, but you shouldn't use it for anything heavy-duty, or it will break. There is heavy-duty thread for just that reason. Otherwise, it should meet your sewing needs.
I will start by saying that this is a genuinely huge spool - my standard home machine is not designed to hold a spool of this size, but I knew that when I was buying it, and I was determined to make it work. Honestly, I just put it next to the machine at a decent angle and it worked fine. I may make a little tilted holder out of a hanger or something so it’s at a better and more secure angle in the future.Visually, the thread doesn’t look like what I assume AAA quality thread would be, not that I am some sort of expert. It’s not perfectly even, there are slight imperfections along the length. This made me a little hesitant to test it in my machine, because it is very sensitive to low-quality thread. The Dual Duty stuff that is the common budget brand around where I live gets chewed up pretty commonly, so I treat my machine like a princess with the high-end stuff instead.I am pleased to say that, despite appearances, there was no acting up of any kind. I am now a believer in the “smooth feeding, and consistent stitching” claim the seller made in the description. This thread is also a bit thicker than standard, but not obnoxiously so - I was still easily able to thread it into my universal needle.I mostly do wearable patterns and I make mock-ups for virtually everything I make for the first time to get the fit perfect. This will be my mock-up thread, and I will use my fancy pants treads for the finished pieces. Having this large quantity of reliable, well performing thread will be a treat and a load off my mind. Good buy, would recommend!
I use a lot of thread for tatting and this polyester thread is very nice and strong and not a lot of give/stretch as some other threads can be. The deep blue colour looks very nice and the slight sheen is a good look for the jewelry I make. It comes in a sizeable spool and will last me quite a bit. I imagine for sewing this is still a really good amount to use for quite a long time. I pull the thread quite a bit and I keep my knots pretty tight, and so far it takes quite a bit of effort to snap the thread. Depending on your machine, you will probably have to get this on bobbins for it to work with your machine, though most machines now you can do it fairly quickly and easily. So far I've yet to experience any fraying or any weird inconsistencies in the thread. Though it doesn't show me the price as of yet, so I can't rate based on worth it by price, I would pit this up with any good quality thread on the market.
This 2000 yards of sewing thread came in the white colour and it is a 4ply thread, making it quite difficult to break easily. It makes the quality very good, and perfect for sewing and other arts and crafts/ projects. The thread has worked very well for hand sewing, too. It has been unable to be broken easily and the polyester material of the thread is also great. There are 2000 yards of this thread so it is a lot, and enough to last a long while. The spool is also tall and thin so it can be used together with a sewing machine without it being too big or heavy. Very well made and versatile.Good quality. Happy to recommend to others.
This is good thread. I am not an expert seamstress or a professional tailor, so I can't provide a detailed analysis of the history of thread or the quality of the fibre or the style of the wind. I am just an old woman who enjoys sewing, and I can tell you that this thread is strong and smooth, true to colour, and has a very subtle sheen.I selected the deep blue colour because I get a lot of family requests to repair ripped blue jeans, and the dark blue colour of this thread works very well for such projects. I also had in mind the fact that this blue is so dark that in a pinch I could use it as a stand-in for black thread, especially when used to sew on buttons, or attach zippers. The quantity of thread on this spool means that it could well outlast me. Two thousand yards, or six thousand feet, is a lot of thread. And as good and reassuring as that is, it is also the one disadvantage (for me, at any rate) in using this thread. The size and style of the spool mean that it does not fit anywhere on my sewing machine.. It serves just fine when I use it for hand-stitching, but I have no way of re-winding the thread onto one of the standard spool sizes that my machine is designed to use. But maybe I am fussing too soon. Maybe there are devices available for solving just this problem. Honestly, up until now, I haven't looked. Regardless, this is still an impressive supply of good, strong thread, and I am very pleased to have it.
Really happy with this sewing thread. The white colour is clean and versatile, and the thread runs smoothly through my sewing machine without much trouble. It feels strong enough for everyday sewing projects and doesn’t snap easily while stitching. The large amount on the spool is also great, especially if you do a lot of sewing. A useful staple to have at home.
I ordered the All Purpose Polyester Sewing Machine Thread Deep Blue 2000 Yards because I do a variety of sewing projects ranging from clothing repairs and alterations to craft projects and decorative stitching. I am always looking for thread that feeds smoothly through my sewing machine, produces consistent stitches, and offers enough yardage to complete multiple projects without constantly changing spools. The generous 2000-yard size and rich deep blue color immediately caught my attention. I ordered it through the Amazon Vine Review Program and here's my honest and unbiased thoughts about it.The Product:This thread consists of a single 2000-yard spool of deep blue polyester sewing thread manufactured using a 40WT weight construction and made from AAA-grade polyester fibers. It features a 4-ply tightly twisted design intended to provide strength, durability, smooth feeding, and reduced fraying during use. The thread is suitable for both machine sewing and hand sewing and is marketed as an all-purpose option for garment construction, alterations, quilting, repairs, crafts, decorative stitching, and general sewing work. The large spool format is particularly useful for frequent sewing since it minimizes interruptions for thread replacement.I first used this thread while hemming a pair of pants and later on a decorative cushion cover project that required several long seams. One thing I noticed right away was how smoothly the thread unwound from the spool. It fed evenly through my sewing machine without excessive twisting, snagging, or tension issues. The deep blue color is beautiful and rich, making it an excellent choice for matching blue fabrics or creating decorative contrast stitching. Throughout multiple sewing sessions, the thread maintained consistent performance and produced neat, uniform stitches that looked clean on both sides of the fabric. I also appreciated the fact that the thread felt strong without being overly thick, making it suitable for a wide variety of everyday sewing tasks. What impressed me most was the combination of strength and value. The 2000-yard capacity means there is enough thread for countless repairs, alterations, quilting projects, and craft creations before needing a replacement spool. The polyester construction provides good durability, and I experienced very few thread breaks even while sewing through multiple fabric layers. The thread also worked well for detail work where stitch consistency matters. Whether used on garments, home décor projects, fabric crafts, quilting work, or general repairs, it performed reliably and helped create professional-looking results. The deep blue shade remained vibrant and attractive throughout my projects and blended beautifully with coordinating fabrics. The Conclusion:Overall, I think this LIUHG All Purpose Polyester Sewing Machine Thread is an excellent choice for both hobby sewists and experienced users. The combination of 2000 yards of thread, 40WT construction, high-quality polyester fibers, 4-ply twist design, smooth machine compatibility, strong stitch performance, deep blue color, and versatile all-purpose use makes it a practical and economical addition to any sewing room. It delivers dependable sewing performance, excellent value, and enough thread to support a large number of projects. My rating for this product is 5 out of 5 stars. ★★★★★My Rating Guidelines:Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) = Item wasn't as described and wasn't functional or usableRating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) = Item wasn't as described, had major flaws and didn't meet expectationsRating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5) = Item wasn't fully as described, had flaws and didn't meet most expectationsRating: ★★★★☆ (4/5) = Item was fully as described, had a slight flaw but met most expectationsRating: ★★★★★ (5/5) = Item was completely as described, flawless and met all expectations
WHAT I WAS LOOKING FORI wanted a cone thread that I could use for sewing clothing and lightweight top stitching. I was not interested in using it for embroidery or fancy stitching- just basic sewing.HOW THIS COMESThis comes in a box. The cone is nicely made and wound and the spool is encased in a plastic bag.QUALITYThis is a nice quality polyester thread which acts like a cotton covered poly, but it is not. It is nicer than the house brand I used to get at JoAnn Fabrics which was a little too thin for a truly nice quality appearance. This works well. It also performs well in my sewing machine with the right spool holder and threading.THE BOTTOM LINEThis is a good quality basic black thread that performs well for basic tasks that I wanted to use it for.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. This does provide a nicer top stiching for shirts and lighter weight clothing compared to the old JoAnn Fabrics cone thread which I always grabbed for because it was easy to reach. This one is a good replacement.

It winds smoothly, doesn’t fuzz up, and keeps its color beautifully.Overall, this Space Black polyester thread is strong, smooth, and incredibly dependable. A great pick if you want a long‑lasting sewing thread that works for machines, hand‑sewing, and everyday projects with a clean, professional finish.
My first impression of this 2000 Yards Sewing Thread, All Purpose Polyester Thread is that it works great, even when not being used in a sewing machine. I have a puppy who loves her stuffed animals and plays pretty rough with them. She’s part Boxer and part Lab, so she has plenty of energy to put into her toys. The other day I noticed that her stuffed bear had developed a hole and the stuffing was starting to come out. I grabbed a needle and this thread and promptly sewed the hole back up so she could get back to playing with her bear.I usually double up the thread when hand-sewing to make it stronger, and that's what I did this time as well. It held up well and seems comparable to the thread I already have. Now I have plenty more on hand if I need to repair any of her other toys or anything else around the house.
